Wake Oasis Coffee, located at 1750 Olive Chapel Road in Apex, NC will host a free 5K fun run on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 25, 2021. Wake Oasis Coffee will be accepting food and monetary donations to benefit the Western Wake Crisis Ministry. The Western Wake Crisis Ministry provides support for food, housing assistance, education, and opportunity for community members. This year marks the return of the event after taking last year off due to COVID-19.
The run will be approx 3.2 miles (5k) and will be 100% on sidewalks and the scenic Beaver Greenway. Check in for the event is slated to begin at 8:30 a.m. Wake Oasis Coffee will be partnering with their neighbors, F45 Fitness, who will be on-site to provide a warm-up exercise before the run begins. The run will take a staggered start format that will begin at 9:30a.m. This is a family-friendly event and all ages are encouraged to participate. “We wanted to provide a fun time for families and friends to get moving while helping out the Western Wake Crisis Ministry,” said Paul Peterson, owner of Wake Oasis Coffee.
Pre-registration for the 5K can be found online at: https://bit.ly/3FmBcdB and will be open until all 225 spots are filled. Insurance waivers will be required to be signed by participants prior to the event. Participants will also be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a surprise gift at the end of the event.
